Full 3D editing

Now you can select and edit in full 3D!

Just like in the 2D views, drag the box and resize using the handles.

Tips

·          hold Ctrl key and drag the box to constrain movement to an axis.

·          hold Ctrl and drag a corner to scale uniformly.

·          Use the view controls (top-right) to navigate.

·          Alt + mouse also navigates.

Configurable views

Now it’s easy to switch to an alternative view angle with new camera viewpoints.

To save your favourite layout, just set your preferred view arrangement from menu Views->Configure-views.

Whiteboard view controls

Bring your interactive presentations to life with our whiteboard-friendly features.

Each view contains easy controls for adjusting the viewpoint in each view window – all using the left mouse button. Pressing alt and then using the mouse (within the view window) will also control the viewpoint.

Spin (3D views only) – press and drag

Move/Pan view- press and drag

Zoom in/out view – press and drag

Show clean image switch (display without all surfaces outlines, grid, controls etc) – ideal for taking a snapshot of the image.

Maximize/minimise view button

Extra view windows

Views->New-view - creates an additional view window.

Now you can have as many extra views as you need - great for multi-screen setups.

Our Texture Coordinate Editor just got even better

AC3D’s powerful UV mapper now comes with extra controls to snap the selection to the edges of the texture; and for numeric relative and absolute adjustment of the texture coordinates.

Textures can now be tiled on the background - great for previewing repeating textures.

Align objects tool

This new tool can align objects to each other by max, min, mid-point or the object-centre.

Tools->Align-objects

Simply select one object, shift-select some others and press ‘Align’.

Numeric extrude

You can now extrude surfaces in a specified direction or by a distance in the direction that a surface/s is facing (‘by normal’).

Slice across multiple surfaces

Vertex->slice-surface can now operate across multiple surfaces - Simply select a number of vertices and the surfaces will be cut across at these points.

Render button

Tools->Render - now gives you the option of adding a ‘Render’ button to AC3D’s toolbar so you can quickly send your model to an external renderer (e.g. PovRay).

High resolution printing

Take advantage of the full resolution of your printer with the new printer control.  Print any one of the four AC3D view windows.

(Printing operates in AC3D for Windows)

New file exporters

STL (ascii)- internal The .stl or stereolithography format is file format used in manufacturing and CAD. It is a list of the triangular surfaces that describe a computer generated solid model. This is the standard input for most rapid prototyping machines

New file Importers
